Advisory SS’27
Keith Herron’s NYFW collection this season used family memories, exploring Americas past/ present and Black Culture.
America Still was the theme of the show asking how much has America changed? Where are we headed and what do we value? The collection had three acts, Reaction, Dignity and transformation. Keith Herron is known for his storytelling through his wearable art and clothing that holds a strong message but can still be worn casually. He loves using bold words, patterns and textures that stand out.
Black Culture and Black designers are still underrepresented, but Advisory as a whole makes everyone pay attention. Church fans took place as programs, front row gift bags were filled with As I Am hair care products and a playlist compiled with The Isley Brothers, Stevie Wonder and James Baldwin.
The clothes, although relatively relaxed, had complexity with mixing textures, leather, hardware, and trunk bags with the iconic Advisry Hand monogram also found on pant pockets. Glittery sweaters, knitwear, silk gowns, and asymmetric silhouettes made the show absolutely jawn dropping.
